QVC has once again been recognized as one a Top Ten company in terms of customer service, as selected by shoppers in the seventh annual NRF Foundation/American Express® Customers’ Choice survey. The survey, which asked 9,374 shoppers which retailer provides the best customer service, was conducted by BIGresearch and commissioned by the NRF Foundation, the research and education arm of the National Retail Federation.  The complete list of recognized retailers, across multiple channels and formats (listed in alphabetical order) is:  Amazon.com, JCPenney, Kohl’s Department Stores, Lands’ End, L.L.Bean, Newegg, Nordstrom, Overstock.com, QVC and Zappos.  The official ranking of each retailer in the top ten will be unveiled at NRF’s Annual Retail Industry Luncheon on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, during NRF’s 101st Annual Convention and EXPO. The National Retail Federation’s 2010 Mother’s Day Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, conducted by BIGresearch, found the average person will shell out $126.90 on Mother’s Day gifts, compared to $123.89 last year.  Men will dig a little deeper — spending an average of $155, versus $100 for women.  JCK Online Apr. 21, 2010

 

According to the National Retail Federation, shoppers plan to spend an average of $102.50 on Valentine’s gifts for loved ones this year, down from $122.98 a year ago.  Sixteen percent of surveyed consumers said they plan to purchase a jewelry gift, ranking the category second behind flowers.  National Retail Federation Jan. 29, 2009

 

The NRF predicts a 2.2% increase in November and December retail sales (excluding auto, fuel and restaurant spending) over the same last year.
