Those omnipresent, reality-TV-star Kardashians will premiere a new infomercial selling a new line of PerfectSkin skin care products this Thursday.  The line, which includes a self-tanner and lip gloss, was developed in association with dermatologist Dr. Ron DiSalvo and will compete on TV against the Proactiv product line.

Skineez compression shapewear garments contain a patented formula of anti-cellulite and moisturizing ingredients, including retinol, caffeine, red algae extract, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, rose hip oil and vitamin E.  The combination of ingredients is meant to moisturize, firm, energize, lift, smooth, and tighten the skin as the garment is worn.  These new Skineez products, which the company touts as “skincare that you wear,” will appear on HSN, July 15th and 16th.  I imagine the HSN legal staff is double-checking all the product claims — there’s a host of them in the press release — but I sure hope the alliterative “Tummy Tuck Technology” passes muster.  Skineez™ Skincarewear™ Press Release Jul. 15, 2010

 

Beauty house Shiseido will gingerly step out from behind the department store counter and in front of the Klieg lights at QVC UK during a special “Beauty Day” in July and thereafter on a regular schedule.  Shiseido Managing Director Carolyn Taylor said, “We decided to put the brand on there because we think people shop differently these days … Bore now, people went into department stores to learn about products but there are different ways of getting to know a beauty house.”  The move to TV is meant to complement, not replace, the company’s traditional department store presence.  Shiseido, in fact, is investing in an upgraded in-store unit — the first will be in London’s Selfridges — that will include areas to sell and provide client consultations on skincare, make-up and fragrance. Next month, Perfect Formula will premiere a summer nail polish line on QVC that changes color depending on one’s mood — or, more scientifically, one’s body temperature.  About her coming star turn, pitchwoman and Perfect Formula founder Shari Gottesman says, “I was in the right place at the right time!
