Wholearth Beauty to Return to ShopNBC this Weekend

ShopNBC today announced that Wholearth Beauty will return to the network’s broadcast schedule this Saturday, August 7, at 2 pm & 8 pm ET and Sunday, August 8, at 10 am & 5 pm ET.  During this weekend’s visits, product line creator Danny Seo will introduce a new product, Wholearth No. 10 Perfume Spray.  The announcement describes the line’s June 30th launch as “wildly successful” with numerous sellouts.  Details about popular items from Wholearth’s certified organic product line appear after the jump. BECCA Cosmetics to Premiere on ShopNBC in Self-Titled Show, July 26

ShopNBC announced yesterday that BECCA Cosmetics will premiere on the network (selling a line of natural-looking cosmetics that feature anti-oxidant vitamins and high levels of broad spectrum sunscreen) this this Monday, July 26th at 11am and 7pm ET.  “Founded in Perth, Australia by make-up artist Rebecca Morrice Williams, BECCA Cosmetics was created out of her frustration in finding the perfect foundation for women, one that would not only conceal blemishes, but look natural, feel weightless and stay fresh all day.”  BECCA will be represented during these initial broadcasts by makeup artist and cosmetics trainer, Jo Levy. New False Eyelashes Product to Appear on HSN

A kit of false eyelashes — with a new-and-improved adhesive and consisting of extension lashes, feather lashes and glamour lashes — will appear on HSN,  according to an item in a local Fla. newspaper.  The product is made by Lashes and Cosmetics, a south Florida company formed by entrepreneurial sisters Katie Salvador and Corrie Campbell.  The two also run a successful company serving the $2.35 billion scrapbooking sector of the crafts industry called The Stencil Collection.  Campbell and Salvador will reportedly appear on HSN when their product makes its premiere.  The Daytona Beach News-Journal (FL) Jun. 6, 2010

Greyson International’s Trilexon® Products to Return to ShopNBC Tomorrow

Beauty Sales Migrating to DRTV and Other Alternative Channels

Women are increasingly passing up the cosmetics counters at department stores, shopping for their beauty products on TV and in specialty stores like those operated by Sephora USA Inc. and Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc. The new predilection, in fact, is part of the reason why HSN and QVC reported such strong first quarters, and also why department store sales fell 9.3% between May 2007 and May 2010, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.  What’s more, these alternative distribution channels for cosmetics are cross-pollinating.  The Perricone MD and Philosophy skin care lines initially made their names on QVC, then expanded their distribution into Ulta and Sephora stores, and finally opened up their own retail locations.  The Deal Jun. 24, 2010

Kardashian Sisters to Launch Nationwide Skin Care Infomercial Thursday

Those omnipresent, reality-TV-star Kardashians will premiere a new infomercial selling a new line of PerfectSkin skin care products this Thursday.  The line, which includes a self-tanner and lip gloss, was developed in association with dermatologist Dr. Ron DiSalvo and will compete on TV against the Proactiv product line.

New Skineez Skinny Jeans … with Tummy Tuck Technology … to Debut on HSN in July

Skineez compression shapewear garments contain a patented formula of anti-cellulite and moisturizing ingredients, including retinol, caffeine, red algae extract, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, rose hip oil and vitamin E.  The combination of ingredients is meant to moisturize, firm, energize, lift, smooth, and tighten the skin as the garment is worn.  These new Skineez products, which the company touts as “skincare that you wear,” will appear on HSN, July 15th and 16th.  I imagine the HSN legal staff is double-checking all the product claims — there’s a host of them in the press release — but I sure hope the alliterative “Tummy Tuck Technology” passes muster.  Skineez™ Skincarewear™ Press Release Jul. 15, 2010

Shiseido to Retail on QVC UK

Beauty house Shiseido will gingerly step out from behind the department store counter and in front of the Klieg lights at QVC UK during a special “Beauty Day” in July and thereafter on a regular schedule.  Shiseido Managing Director Carolyn Taylor said, “We decided to put the brand on there because we think people shop differently these days … Bore now, people went into department stores to learn about products but there are different ways of getting to know a beauty house.”  The move to TV is meant to complement, not replace, the company’s traditional department store presence.  Shiseido, in fact, is investing in an upgraded in-store unit — the first will be in London’s Selfridges — that will include areas to sell and provide client consultations on skincare, make-up and fragrance.
