Product Recall of Steam Cleaners Sold on QVC

H2O Mop Steam Cleaners — sold on QVC and through other channels in 2007 and 2008 for about $100 — have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.  Exposed electrical wiring resulting from worn power cords has caused shock or burn injuries to more than a dozen people.  The recall affects some 580,000 appliances.  MainStreet.com July 21, 2009

U.S. Same-Store Sales Rose 0.5% Last Week

That report of a week-over-week sales gain comes from the International Council of Shopping Centers and Goldman Sachs, which today released seasonally adjusted data on U.S. chain store retail sales. The ICSC expects same-store sales for the full month of July to be down by 5.5% from the prior year.  Reuters July 21, 2009
