Designer (& QVC Guest) Chloe Dao Considers ‘Project Runway’ Gift that Keeps Giving

Houston-based clothing designer Chloe Dao attributes much of her success to the good fortune of appearances on Project Runway back in 2006. The publicity helped her land the QVC business, where her Simply Chloe Dao line sells some 10,000 units per item. Her ready-to-wear line, Dao by Chloe Dao, is stocked by boutiques in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, along with a showroom in New York City, and is also available on her website. When Lot 8, Dao’s boutique in Houston’s Rice Village, celebrated eight years in business recently, Houston mayor Bill White declared the day “Chloe Dao Day.” Houston Chronicle Oct 20, 2008
